CHORDS 68: Using Classic Charts for chord changing, building and arrangement exercise

The purpose of this graft is to choose (or build) shapes to suit, form an arrangement and then make the changes with enough skill that you can appreciate the chordal component of the composition.

For this sort of work, the purpose is not to work it up to performance level (this would take weeks of painstaking revision and rehearsing), but rather just to use a repetitive rhythm and technique and focus on keeping time, referring to the chart one bar ahead, soaking up the creativity of Burt & Hal, assessing your choices of each shape and then of the overall arrangement.

The workout can end once you have a rough sketch like mine, with the feeling of having done some serious work with the hands and mind.
